Brother Jason G., State Senior Councilor, will be introducing a new State Athletics Program at Conclave 2016. Under this program, each chapter will be responsible for hosting and planning one State Athletic competition. The athletic events will provide fundraising and educational opportunities for chapters, which will help them to demonstrate their capability to host and plan an event and learn new leadership skills. Committee Chairman will be Brother Brandon S., and ‘Dad’ Jeff Stewart will serve as the State Athletics Advisor. The chairman will be responsible for communicating with chapters and helping each chapter plan its event, if needed.

Each chapter will also compete for the new DeMolay Cup, a trophy awarded to the chapter that wins the most athletic events and displays the most sportsmanship. At each event, the State Athletic Advisor will measure the amount of sportsmanship – along with the State Chapter ‘Dad’ and any other member of the Ad staff in attendance. Chapters will be awarded points in the rival program for participating in and hosting athletic events. The cup, which will be presented at Conclave 2017, will go to the chapter who receives the most overall points.

Eight athletic events will be scheduled and introduced before conclave. We are asking that each chapter decide which athletic event they would like to host. If there any athletic events are left unselected, they will not be held.
