Character Based Leadership

In an era when sports heroes deny that they are role models, business leaders claim that they are beholden to no one but the bottom line, and governments continue to enact policies which divide and exacerbate the inequalities of humanity, does the idea of “Character Based Leadership” even exist?

What do you feel the term “Character Based Leadership” represents? Highlight an individual who you think exhibits the characteristics of being a leader while retaining the aspects of possessing strong character as well.

Write of your own experiences in DeMolay and life where you have been faced with making challenging decisions. Did you choose the path of being a “Character Based Leader?” What guided you when making these decisions? What were the pressures that you felt to act differently? How did you feel as a person and DeMolay when everything was said and done?

Submissions are due to Dad Lyester Billhymer no later than February 1st!
